Instructors

Dwilyn BeilerDwilyn Beiler, Paradise, PA
Dwilyn spent 20 years in Christian school education as a music teacher and administrator. He received his music education degree from Millersville University in 1985 and a master's degree in Christian School Administration from Grace Seminary, Winona Lake, IN in 1991. He was the music director at Faith Mennonite High School, Kinzers, PA for 6 years and then taught music and was the administrator at Linville Hill Mennonite School, Paradise, PA (grades K-8) for 14 years. Currently, Dwilyn is working in the business world as a sales/delivery person for Leola Fasteners marketing screws and furniture hardware, and teaches music 2 days a week at Fair Haven Christian School, Gap PA. He continues to sing and directs Gap Male Chorus (a group of 50+ men which recently celebrated its 85th anniversary) as well as Men With A Song (a 30-voice choir which has its roots at Music Camp). Dwilyn and his wife, Bertie, have 5 children--Melanie, Austin, Krista, Carli and Mindy who enjoy living on a small farm along with numerous cats, 1 dog, 3 goats, and 2,000 pigs. Along with choral conducting and playing the accordian, Dwilyn enjoys the outdoors, especially hunting, hiking, caring for fruit trees and spending time with family at the cabin in the mountains. They attend Life Mennonite Fellowship, Willow Street, PA.

 

Wendell GlickWendell Glick, Waterloo, ON
Wendell is a choir director and music teacher for grades 7-12 at Countryside Christian School and a doctoral student and theory teaching assistant at the University of Western Ontario. He is a music composition alumnus of the University of Toronto (2010) and Wilfrid Laurier University (2008) and has written works extending from a cappella choral settings and music for vocal and instrumental chamber ensembles to orchestral and electroacoustic compositions. Wendell is an ordained youth pastor at Countryside Mennonite Fellowship and the director of the annual Faith Builders College Student Seminar and Retreat. He lives in Waterloo, ON, with his wife Janelle and their lively sons Lucas and Dante, and enjoys model trains, apologetics, choral conducting, aviation, putting leaf rakes away for the winter, and rainy days.

 

Wendy GoodGwendolyn Good, Evington, VA
Gwendolyn is a home school mom of two energetic and beloved boys. She teaches music to grades 1-7 two hours a week at Bethel Mennonite School in Gladys, VA and gives private piano lessons. Originally from United Bethel Church in Plain City, Ohio, Gwendolyn sang with the Madison Choral Singers, Rosedale Chorale, the Hartville Singers, and Mennonite Heritage Chorale. Gwendolyn graduated from Cedarville University with a BA in piano performance and BME in music education. She received an MS degree from Longwood University and an Ed.D. degree from the University of Virginia in Administration and Supervision. Gwendolyn served in the Virginia public school system for 11 years: five as a music teacher grades preK-8 and six years as an assistant principal, grades ranging from 5-12. Eight years ago, Gwendolyn returned to music, composing songs out of personal pain and brokenness in her life under the pseudonym Tirzah Joy. She has enjoyed setting chapters of Scripture to music and sharing her CDs and testimony to encourage others.

 

Lloyd KauffmanLloyd Kauffman, West Jefferson, OH
Lloyd has been a music teacher at Sarasota Christian School (Florida), Rosedale Bible Institute (Ohio) and Daystar University (Nairobi, Kenya). He holds a B.A. in Music Education (Eastern Mennonite College, 1971), and an M.A. in Music Education with a choral-vocal concentration (Ohio State University, 1987). He directed the Rosedale Chorale and other school / community choirs during his teaching years, and continues periodic musical activities ranging from weekend choral events to overseas tours. He is currently a self-employed painter, handyman, commercial driver and choral/vocal resource person. He enjoys arranging choral music, listening to a variety of music including classical, aviation, motorcycling, mechanical tinkering, travel, and more. He and his wife, Mary, live in West Jefferson, Ohio.


John D. MartinJohn D. Martin, Shippensburg, PA
John has been an active promoter of quality church music for more than 40 years. This has prompted him to compile a new hymnal for the church that carries on a tradition of excellence. He will serve as instructor in the congregational music track. John resides at Chambersburg, PA with his wife Patrica. His 4 children are Anne (married to Craig Martin, with 2 grandsons, Carter and Edward), Heather, Candace, and Spencer. His son Geoffrey (2006 SCMC student) died at age 18 in an automobile accident. John holds Bachelor of Science degrees in both elementary education and library science.

 

Nolan Martin, Narvon, PA
Nolan directs the Faith Chorale and teaches class voice, sight-singing, and physical education classes at Faith Mennonite High School. Since 2008 he has also been enrolled as a music education major at West Chester University. From 2004-2010 he directed the youth chorus, New Creation Chorus. He has also sung with a number of choirs including Sharon Singers, Faith Builders Chorale, and Oasis Chorale. He enjoys reading, listening to free audio books, promoting Anabaptist thought, attempting to train his puppy, traveling, and playing sports. He and his wife Alena live in Narvon, PA and attend Lichty's Mennonite Church.

 

John Henry MillerJohn H. Miller, Hartville, OH
John Miller from Hartville, Ohio is a vocal music graduate from Eastern Mennonite University and has been directing and training singers forty some years.  His involvements include the Hartville Singers , Tri-State Men's Chorus, The Mennonite Acappella Singers and teaching vocal-training seminarsHe is a retired public school science instructor.  He has a master’s degree in Earth and Space Science from Franklin and Marshall University and has been administratively involved with the Hartville Christian High School. When not instructing singers, you will likely find him outside with some of his grandchildren hiking, hunting, or fishing.

 

Brandon MulletBrandon Mullet, Guys Mills, PA
Brandon Mullet conducts choirs and teaches classes in music, literature, and writing at Faith Builders Educational Programs. He graduated from Grace College, majoring in Choral Music Education. He conducts the Faith Builders Chorale, a community choir, Heart & Voice, and the FBCS high school choir. Brandon enjoys being married to Marie, leading worship, reading, landscaping, remodeling, and running. Brandon and Marie live in Guys Mills, PA with their four sons: Patrick, Kipp, Stuart, and Christopher.

 

 

Wendell NislyWendell Nisly, Harrisonburg, VA
An instructor at Calvary Christian Academy, Wendell teaches music and other subjects to students grades 7-12. He also conducts Oasis Chorale. He completed a Bachelor of Music Education degree at Wichita State University, and a Masters in Choral Conducting at James Madison University. He is passionate about unleashing the beauty of choral music, and exploring with his choirs how beauty in music points to the Author of beauty. He risks periodic reconnaissance missions onto such foreign battlefields as philosophy of education, Christian apologetics, and philosophy of music. Natives of Kansas, Wendell and his wife, Jeanene, live in Harrisonburg, VA.


Myron SauderMyron Sauder, Lancaster, PA
Myron Sauder teaches high school English at a Mennonite school in Lancaster, Pa., where he lives with his wife, Sarah, and children, Reuben, Justin, Kathryn and Kendra. He also teaches hymnology and music theory, and has directed a school chorus. At Messiah College, his minor in music included study of hymnology and composition. The fascinating hymn tradition of his church, the River Brethren, prompted him to produce "Handbook for Spiritual Hymns", a handbook to their hymnal. Today, hymns remain the primary focus of Myron's musical interest. Today, he leads ongoing community hymn sings focusing on new hymns suitable for Mennonite congregations. He also attends conferences of The Hymn Society, where he is a life member.


Lyle StutzmanLyle Stutzman, Hutchinson, KS
Lyle Stutzman graduated from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota with a bachelor's degree in Music Education. He teaches music for grades 5-12 at Pilgrim Christian Schools in Hutchinson, Kansas, and he teaches piano, voice, and music theory at his own music studio. He conducts the Reno Choral Society's annual Christmas concert, directs a choir of inmates and volunteers at a local prison, sings with the Wichita Chamber Chorale, and arranges and composes for choirs. In addition to his musical interests, he enjoys studying worldviews, reading about nutrition, making and eating good food, playing basketball and other sports, and spending time with his wife. He and Maria live in Partridge, Kansas.


Regina TroyerRegina Troyer, Hartville, OH
Regina developed a love for singing as a young child, encouraged by her parents and singing family. She studied vocal music for 3 years at Malone College, participating and soloing in the college and community choirs. Regina has sung with the Hartville Singers since age 14 and also with Mennonite Acappella Singers. She has lead Hartville Singers women’s group for about 20 years and is in her 15th year of teaching music at Hartville Christian School. She lives on a farm with her husband David, and 6 children, Emily, Carissa, Benjamin, twins Aaron & Amanda, Nathaniel, and a variety of farm animals. She enjoys camping and hunting with her husband and family, and as time allows reading, photography, pencil drawing, and campfire cooking.
